*** Our Doctor's Hours Have Changed (See Bottom)***

Dear Pet Owner,

As we approach the spring and summer months and the peak season for fleas and ticks, it’s important to remember to protect your pet. This year, we are pleased to inform you a line of flea and tick control products, ProMeris®, is now available.

Fleas can be a severe nuisance and irritation to you and your pet. They may cause illness, such as anemia and flea allergy dermatitis, the most common cause of skin disease in dogs and cats. Fleas can also infest a home in a short amount of time. Only about 5 percent of the flea population is comprised of adult fleas, so unfortunately, if you can see adult fleas on your cat or dog, there are many fleas or flea eggs in your home you cannot see. The fleas you see today are actually from eggs laid, on average, three to eight weeks before, so it’s important to provide your pet with consistent monthly protection.

We are recommending ProMeris because it offers a weapon to fight today’s fleas and ticks. ProMeris® for dogs helps protect dogs 8 weeks and older from fleas and ticks. ProMeris® for cats effectively controls fleas on cats 8 weeks and older. Both products are available as a monthly topical spot-on.

ProMeris’ applicator can be conveniently opened by adults and the long tab makes it easy to grasp and hold out of the way while applying dose. The applicator’s design also helps prevent the liquid from spilling out, even when turned upside down, until you’re ready to apply it to your pet. You will notice a unique, temporary smell after applying ProMeris. This smell will be gone in a matter of hours, but ProMeris keeps protecting your pet.

For your convenience, ProMeris for dogs is available in five different sizes, including an extra small for dogs under 11 pounds. ProMeris for cats is available in two sizes. ProMeris is only available through a veterinarian, so please call 606-864-9120 to set up an appointment to discuss your pet’s health and the benefits of using this new weapon against fleas and ticks. For more information about ProMeris, visit www.promeris.com.

Sincerely,

Cumberland Valley Animal Hospital
